"By painting on location, you can accurately capture the contrast of light and shade and the abstact
patterns you see in nature. It's rewarding for me when someone recognizes a scene that I have painted
and shares their experience of that place. I thoroughly enjoy the process of plein air painting-to be
outside in the elements, to endure the wind, the heat or the cold, and encompass everything onto the canvas.

of nature; the constant challenge to create a feeling of light and atmosphere."
